ABOUT THE WRITER: Katelyn likes to think of herself as a stereotypical writer in the movies; she wears glasses, her diet consists of English Breakfast tea’s, her dream flat is a studio apartment in London, and oh yes – one day she wants to publish her own book. You can find all of her musings here.

After 1 year and almost 9 months of planning and transforming, 2013 award-winning bartender Martin Lange, and his business partners Trent Goodwin and Kahn Mills, are opening Fortitude Valley’s new bar Saville Row. First bringing you Cobbler, one of the city’s best whiskey bars, Martin’s new space will be the older sibling that aims to draw in the pre-dinner, more mature demographic in the Valley.

The idea for the bar is simplicity and sophistication. 900 bottles will create the centerpiece feature for the back bar. Booth seating and spaces for couples will be available on the top level, all of which look down on the bar below. The bar is set to be a Cocktail and Spirits bar with a healthy selection of champagne and premium white and red wines.

The venue’s name, Saville Row, refers to the famous London street in upmarket Mayfair where specialist tailors created luxurious men suits. The Saville Row team are expecting to create an ‘old timey London’ atmosphere featuring a similar aesthetic to Cobbler with moody lighting and plenty of texture and vintage decor.

In terms of service, the whole venue is going to be table service with some of Cobbler’s signature charm and good cheek. Opening Sunday 28th of May, we suggest you head down to Saville Row on Ann Street if booze, music, great service and a lot of fun is your type of night.

You can expect to see Saville Row trading seven nights a week, from 5pm until 3am in the morning.
