The Bavarian Beerhaüs’ five-week calendar of Oktoberfest celebrations just got a whole lot better. For the first time ever, The Bavarian Beerhaüs will be hosting the Oktoberfest Bier-lympics at Bowen Hills on Saturday 20th October.
Sure to be fun-filled (and beer-filled), the day will include an Olympic-sized line up of wonderfully wacky challenges, good music and free royal snacks.
The Bier-lympic games will be kicking off at midday with an official Oktoberfest keg tap. An afternoon jam-packed with bier-lympic challenges will follow, including sausage throwing, sausage eating, apple bobbing and The Bavarian Beerhaüs’ legendary stein holding competition. Prizes including $20 vouchers, giant pretzel medals and more will be up for grabs.
The much-anticipated Dogs of Oktoberfest Competition will then begin at 2pm, with four-legged friends invited to strut their stuff for a chance to win stacks of prizes. From Schnauzers to Poodles and everything in between, all pups should come and enjoy the fun.
A second Oktoberfest keg tap at 4pm will signal two hours of free delectable snacks from the Royal Snack Bar. We’re talking chicken wings, loaded fries and mini dagwood dogs.
The limited-edition Oktoberfest bier, Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest Marzen, will be available on tap and flowing all day long. Freshly imported from Bavaria, this slightly bitter brew with hints of malt caramel and citrus is sure to be a new favourite.
The Bavarian Beerhaus’ Bier-lympics will be nearing the end of the restaurants month long schedule of Oktoberfest celebrations, finishing up on Sunday 28th October. So come along, join in the festivities, enjoy one last chance to drink the limited-edition Oktoberfest bier and say “so-long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good night” to Oktoberfest 2018.
Whether you’re an Oktoberfest newbie or Oktoberfest boss, the inaugural Bier-lympics are one event not to be missed!
